David Lynch fans of the world, rejoice! With the premiere just three weeks away, the Twin Peaks revival is upon us at long last.
For those of us who are wild at heart for David Lynch, the anticipation is palpable. Here in NYC, Videology has scheduled its iconic Twin Peaks bingo series to occur in the month leading up to the premiere. BAM has put together an entire program of Twin Peaks–related screenings. And I’m already planning my own viewing party, perhaps to be held partly in my Black Lodge–inspired room.
To continue to celebrate the series’ long-awaited return, we’d love to hear from you about your David Lynch fandom.
Have you sung Bobby Vinton or Roy Orbison during karaoke as an homage to Blue Velvet? Did you jetset to Silencio, the Mulholland Drive–inspired Paris nightclub (that was conceived by David Lynch himself)? Have you made fan art? Do you race to every midnight screening of Eraserhead? Or have you simply dressed up as your favorite Lynchian character on Halloween?
In college, I dipped my toes into transcendental meditation, attended Lynch’s solo art exhibition, and watched more Dumbland than any reasonably well-adjusted person should. In the upcoming weeks, I’ll be returning to full-on fan derangement by doing at least a few of the things mentioned in this post.
Readers, how have you worshipped at the altar of David Lynch? Tell us in the comments. Even better, show us with images!
We’ll choose our favorite stories/images/or other tributes that, appropriately enough, we can’t quite put a name to, and feature them in a follow-up post, so we can get collectively psyched all over again for Twin Peaks, premiering May 21st at 9pm ET/PT on SHOWTIME.
