Last week, we spoke to the ultra-talented photographer Paul Octavious to hear about his creative process. Then, we challenged him to channel his creative energy into creating the most otherworldly video he could, using the new Canon EOS 6D Mark II DSLR. How did Octavious take advantage of the camera’s features to create his piece? “The touch screen viewfinder let me keep quick track of my focus of the bubbles. Clicking bubbles on screen and focusing was beautiful!” he said. “Also, it swivels, which is so nice to use when one hand is holding a bubble wand and the other is holding a light.” Moreover, the built-in wi-fi allowed Octavious to move files to his monitor quickly and effortlessly, allowing him to efficiently assess his work. The result was every bit as unearthly as we had hoped, and delightfully trippy to boot. Angela Wang is a Senior Writer for Studio@Gizmodo.
